Happy New Year!

I haven't posted since the LAST DECADE! I kept checking everyone's blogs, and I would come to ours, and it always said the same thing. I would tell myself, 'When that person posts, I will.' I am thankful that some of the blogs I check haven't been posting, because it meant I had an "excuse" not to. But, since pretty much everyone else has updated their blogs since the new year...I figured I should write something. In no particular order, here are some "goings on" from the McFadden world:

  • WE ALL LOVE AND MISS ELDER MCFADDEN VERY VERY MUCH!!!
  • Katelynn and I will be dancing in both Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando this October! We are super excited to perform, and see the new Harry Potter land!
  • I am still teaching dance on Saturdays, and although we have had a few rough patches, I still think this will be the best recital yet! I am still learning and having a great time every week! This year our theme is DISNEY MAGIC!
  • Our family was recently slacking off and eating out at McDonald's/Burker King/KFC/whatever was closest on the way home WAY TOO MUCH. This new year, we have resolved to sit down as a family and eat a good dinner together every day. So far, we are doing great! It feels so good to get up from the table feeling FULL, and knowing I am full of GOOD stuff!
  • Katelynn and I participated in the Faces of the Future Talent Competition this past January. I competed in modeling formal wear, swim wear, sports wear, and novelty wear and won GOLD for all of them. I also danced 3 times with my teammates, and Katelynn danced once with her teammates. We won GOLD for those as well! Katelynn can't wait for the next competition, because she gets to try modeling next time!
  • We have NOT enjoyed the snow very much at all. Daddy had to stay close to work during the storms, so we missed him and stayed cooped up for practically a week. Even Katelynn only went out to play in the snow once. I am hoping for one more very SMALL snow storm so we can go sledding, because we never got to go.
  • I decided not to return to Sesame Place for this season, mostly because of the distance. I LOVE the job and all the people there, but it is just too far to travel every day all summer. The past season was a great experience that I will never forget.
  • Mom is so hard at work planning our performance team's trip to Disney, taking care of dance costumes, helping to plan TWO recitals, and MORE that I don't know when she would have time to sleep if she had a full time job!
  • I got a 4.0 GPA for this semester of high school! SEND THAT TO BYU!

I think/hope I included everything. Until next time!

Wow! First, LOVE the new background. My eyes always watered reading the last one. :)

Second, HOW COOL that you got GOLD and get to go perform at Disney! You must be thrilled!! Although you are talented enough that I am not 100% surprised about the gold medals. :)

And finally, you may have your wish on Thursday. I hear there is more snow coming. Sigh. I just got my car uncovered from the 6 foot mound of snow it was in on Sunday.

Keep up the posting! I love to hear how things are going. :)
